“RUN FOR LIFE” is a one-mile run that will generate funds to benefit children in Africa. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for “Stay Alive,” a project of United Families International specifically aimed at teaching African children AIDS prevention behavior. Targeted at the root cause of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the program focuses on educating children before they become sexually active (during the ages 9-14) and empowering them with decision making skills that can literally save their lives. |
The fee for “RUN FOR LIFE” is $15 per person, with the proceeds going directly toward the purchase of educational material for “Stay Alive.” |
All families, including adults and children, are invited to participate in this 5th annual community run. |
The run will go through the streets of the Estate Groves neighborhood (Brown and 40th Street) and will start and finish at the entrance of Centre Court Community. Neighborhood participants are encouraged to walk to this event. Those traveling from other areas should park in the LDS church parking lot on the NW corner of Brown and 40th St. |
There will be games and activities following the run, including food and awards. |
All participants will receive a commemorative T-Shirt that can be picked up between 4:00pm-6:00pm the day before the race or 7:00am-8:00am the day of the race. |
Any business or organization making a contribution of more than $100 before Saturday, August 30th will have its company name printed on the back of the T-Shirt. Donor companies will also be able to place small brochures and business cards on our sponsor tables as further advertising. |
